This website is run by THE NURSE INTERNATIONAL (GM), a company registered in England and Wales with company number 15589597 (“we”, “us”). Our registered office is Suba Center, 202 Deykin Avenue, Birmingham, B6 7BH.
We are the controller of personal data collected through this website. You can contact us about your personal data at info@thenurseint.com or by post at our registered office.
We are registering with the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO). Our registration number will be published here once it has been issued.
What personal data we collect
- Account registration: first name, last name, email address, an automatically generated username, and the date you accepted our Terms of Use.
- Contact form: your name, email address, subject and message.
- Article submissions: your name, contact details, author bio, your article and any images you send.
- Technical data: IP address, browser type and pages visited, recorded in server logs by our hosting provider for security and performance.
- Cookies: see our Cookie Policy.
Why we use it and our lawful basis
- To create and manage your free membership account: contract.
- To reply to messages you send us: legitimate interests.
- To consider, edit and publish articles you submit, including your name and author bio: contract and legitimate interests.
- To keep the website secure and prevent spam: legitimate interests.
- To send you newsletters (only if we introduce them and you opt in): consent.
Who we share it with
We do not sell your personal data. We use these service providers, who process data on our behalf:
- Hostinger International Ltd (website hosting). Where personal data is processed outside the UK, we make sure appropriate safeguards are in place, such as UK adequacy regulations or the International Data Transfer Agreement approved by the ICO.
We may share data where required by law.
How long we keep it
- Account data: while your account is active, and for up to 12 months after you ask us to close it.
- Contact messages: up to 24 months.
- Submissions not published: up to 12 months. Published articles stay online as part of our archive (see our Corrections and Retractions policy).
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you have the right to access, correct or delete your personal data, to restrict or object to how we use it, to data portability, and to withdraw consent at any time. To use these rights, email info@thenurseint.com.
You can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113. We would appreciate the chance to resolve your concern first.
