Editorial Policy

Last updated: 2 October 2026

Our aim

The Nurse International publishes articles that share knowledge, experience and ideas across nursing practice, education, leadership and research.

Editorial process

  • Every submission is read by our editorial team.
  • We check that submissions meet our Author Guidelines, are relevant to our readers, are original, and are clear and evidence-based.
  • We may edit articles for clarity, length, style and house style. We will agree significant changes with the author before publication.
  • The editorial team makes the final decision on publication.

Peer review

Articles on this site are not peer reviewed. Editorial checks are not a substitute for peer review, and publication does not mean that we endorse the views or conclusions of an article. If we introduce peer review in future, we will describe the process here and clearly label which articles have been peer reviewed.

Independence

Editorial decisions are not influenced by advertising, sponsorship or membership status.

Opinion pieces

Opinion pieces reflect the views of their authors and are labelled as “Opinion”.

Corrections

See our Corrections and Retractions policy.
